Counselling is now recognised
as a preventative measure

While it was previously seen as a final option for those who have reached crisis point, now it is recognised as a preventative measure, a form of self-care in managing difficult feelings. Talking about your feelings and thoughts, in a safe and non-judgemental environment, can release those pent-up emotions and allow you to let them go. It can help you to feel less alone and be able to express thoughts and feelings which you may not feel able to share with family and/or friends.

About Our Counsellor, Carolyn Pickin

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who offers a safe, non-judgemental environment for clients to talk through any worries, concerns and / or difficult feelings and situations that you may be experiencing. I will help you to explore these to help you find your own path through them. I will support you to recognise any unhelpful patterns and/or behaviours, and find ways to change them (if you want to).

I don’t have the answers, so to enable you to work out the best path for you, we will create an open, trusting, and professional relationship. I know how hard it can be to reach out and ask for help, and for that reason I offer an initial free 30-minute consultation to get to know each other and see how we will work together.

I can support you with anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, domestic abuse / violence, infertility, life changing / limiting conditions, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, pregnancy, rape, relationships, self-harm, stress and suicidal thoughts.

I work with children and adults, time limited therapy, short and long-term therapy, online and phone. Face to face is currently on hold due to Covid-19.
